From its original inception, Real Time Manager was designed to be software for locksmith dispatching. Where an operator at the call center or office would take service calls, look at available technicians listed on the screen, and assign a service technician to the job. From that point it has grown up to be so much more. Along with seeing a list of available technicians on the screen, the dispatcher can now see the location of said technician through the use of GPS technology integrated with Google Maps. With this feature, the dispatcher can now see which available technician is nearest to the location of the service call and assign them to the job.
In addition to being dispatching software, Real Time Manager also now manages employee information, client information, and company information. Combining attributes of both an address book and basic accounting information. Invoices, payments, commissions due, and commissions owed are kept track of within the Real Time Manager System.
There are other programs out there that handle one of these features on their own. But why buy 3 or more different programs, when you could get them all in one software package? Real Time Manager is configurable to many services fields, in addition to the Locksmith Service Industry.

Moving to the Cloud.
Software is moving online. The theory of cloud computing is that all software and services will be stored and operated online. People will rent access to the service from the provider instead of buying tangible proprietary software. A computer in your home will basically just be an access point to the programs you want to use. The speed and hardware of your computer will no longer be as much of a factor as it currently is. The speed of your internet connection and the speed of the networks of the software you are using will be the new determinants of the speed at which you operate.
We are already seeing signs of this with websites that offer you a virtual desktop, in which you can create, modify, and save files as if they were on your own desktop. Google has released Google docs, which is comparable to MS Office but in an online form.
This possible future of computing also carries many more worries of privacy concerns and security threats. With all of this vital information stored online, one break in on the network could compromise endless amounts of data files. And just the thought that the company you are renting the service from can view all of your files.
Another downside is that this whole system is reliant on an internet connection and company hardware. If either system goes down, users will be stuck with a very limited uses for their computers. But we are not fully there yet, time well tell on how far this cloud logic carries on.

With Real Time Manager’s integrated dispatch control, users can quickly view all scheduled services from the past, present, and future. Assign technicians to a job and review past assignments. If something happens on the job, you can easily review and see who was assigned to that service call. You can also track status of jobs: unassigned, scheduled, in progress, complete, in-complete, past due, etc.
Assigning a technician to a job is easy, as you just select an available technician from the area from a drop down list. Employee management is even simpler as you can invoice, communicate, and store all required information of each employee within the system.
The information for companies and clients is also easily storable and retrievable from the Real Time Manager field service management software. Keep track of past services performed, billing information, payments due, payment received, parts used, addresses, phone numbers, and so on.
Manage payments and other accounting details. Process credit card payments, manage technician payments and commissions, and view financial reports for technicians.
System administrators can set user rights for all of the various users of the Real Time Manager system. Technicians can be limited to only seeing the files and reports that pertain to their services performed.

SMS Messaging
With the Real Time Manager service management software you can keep in contact with your employees and customers with SMS messages. Messages can be customized to the information they display about the client or employee and the events within the system they are sent out for.
You can program a thank you message to go out to your clients once a job has been paid for and closed. Receipts for services paid can be sent out. Clients can also be alerted to status changes of the service. Messages can be sent to notify the client of job assignments, cancellations, appointments, deletions, forwarding, open jobs, and level of processing. Service updates can be sent out to technicians in the field.
To enable SMS messaging for your employees, when entering them into the system, you must supply their cell phone number into the profile page and select their service carrier. The major cell phone service carriers are supported.
If you have no need for SMS messaging or just do not want to use it, you can turn off. It all depends on the type of business you run and how big of an operation it is. But, ultimately SMS messaging is a great convenience you can offer to your employees and your clients.

Keep Your Company Data Backed Up with Real Time Manager
One of the biggest fears of keeping precious data on a computer is that it may one day fail, causing you to lose your work and company information. Such a loss can cause revenue losses as you spend the time getting everything up and running again.
With Real Time Manager, your database will be backed up automatically everyday. Your data will never be lost. Real Time Manager also gives you the option of calling the backup yourself from within the software, as well giving you the ability to download a backup copy for yourself in the form of an MS Excel file. With this file you can also reload your downloaded copy of the database should you need to with the “Restore from Backup” option. This will take the MS Excel file you download a reinstate the values it contains.
The aforementioned features are available to administrators from in the Backup section of the Services section. There will be a series of three buttons in this section.

Real Time Manager is a service management system that is fully online. Instead of selling little programs for each individual function, multiple features are bundled together in a software suite. Here are some of the services offered with Real Time Manager:

- Track the location of your technician’s with GPS enabled cell phones.

Each piece of software has its trade offs. The programs from Treskat can be used once you buy them with updates available for purchase. BlackHawk products look like they are sold as is, with limited software updates. Most of their lock and key programs are based in older operating systems, so they should run great on DOS and Windows 95. With Real Time Manager, you are renting access to an online service. To use the service you have to pay a setup fee and a monthly service charge. But you get access to many features in one place and not have to buy a bunch of separate programs.

The User Views in Real Time Manager
From within Real Time Manager, you can manage the dispatching of your employees and technicians. One can add jobs to the system, see which jobs are available to be assigned, as well as which all are already assigned. The page you see and what you can do is dependent upon your role inside of the system.
The most basic view is that of the Agent. The page they are allowed to see is supplied only with a message board, a GOOGLE search box, and a link button to add services into the system. They will not see the default dispatch page when logging on to the system.
If you are an admin or other privileged user, you will see the default dispatch page with the ability to change between page views from the “Service Center” tab. On the default page you will see the assignment status of the job, either assigned or unassigned. The appointment time and estimated time of arrival. And those jobs which have gone past the estimated arrival time.
The next view option is that of “Tabs View”, it is much more efficient in that you can look at only the section you are interested in seeing. Each section is viewable by a tab menu, with it’s own labeled tab.
Next is the “Scheduler Dispatch” view, which is a kind of calendar view. From it, one can view the dates and times of their appointments on a calendar grid. As well as the other status attributes.
