Google Maps Is Included With Real Time Manager
When people want to find directions to a restaurant or location online they go to MapQuest or GoogleMaps. While MapQuest is good mostly for just getting directions, Google Maps goes many steps further. With Google Maps, not only can you get directions to your future destination, you can view street level photography to get an idea of where you are going. All of this from satellite imagery. It is a very odd feeling when you type in your home address and view a picture of your house and say, “Yes, that is my place”.
One of the many benefits of Real Time Manager is that the Google Maps application has been integrated into the system. From within the Real Time Manager system, you can enter the job site addresses of your technicians and view the distances on a map. To add to this effectively, technicians with a GPS enabled phone can be added to the Real Time Manager system and have their locations be viewed by the manager. You will be able to see where they are, and where they should be. When a service call comes in, you will be able to see who is closest to the location and assign the job to them. There will be no more need to call beeper and cell phones to see where your employees are.
Along with the positions of your techs, you can also view traffic conditions. With this information you can advise your techs on routes they may want to avoid. Google is always improving their technology, and Google Maps can only get better.
